As mentioned on mailing list ("samba broken?" title) I can't install samba:

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
samba : Depends: samba-common (=2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u2) but it is not
going to be installed
Depends: samba-common-bin (=2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u2) but it is
not going to be installed
Recommends: attr but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: samba-vfs-modules but it is not going to be
installed

I have the same issue, except that samba-common was previously installed as a dependency of gvfs-backends:
The following packages have unmet dependencies: samba : Depends: samba-common (= 2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u3) but 2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u2 is to be installed Depends: samba-common-bin (= 2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u3) but it is not going to be installed Recommends: attr Recommends: samba-vfs-modules but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
It is preventing me from using the SMB printers in CUPS.
