Maybe contact marillat and think about including deb-multimedia packages from him as official in devuan can be an idea?

Aren't there licensing issues with those packages? It would be sensible to havepkgs-multimediainmainfor free codecs, and another one incontribornon-freewith other codecs.

more than licensing i think there were issue with debian DSFG... Anyway, i agree that some codecs should stay in non-free.

Initially, anyway, we will merge marillat repos with devuan one just by using overlay merge, where devuan packages get's precedence over marillat, that get's precedence over debian, so, we can eventually push some packages in our repo in non-free, get's the others from marillat, and then from debian, this way we can probably solve the issues related to licensing and freedomness
