jigdo suggestion
When I downloaded Debian testing or stable releases, I usually downloaded the .jigdo and .template files, and let jigdo-lite fill them up from the nearest Debian mirror ftp site.
Could we do this for Devuan as well? Then we could construct an installation DVD .iso from a .jigdo and .template file filled with only the Devuan-specific packages, and download the other 99% from the Debian mirror nearest to our respective countries. And when there are only few packages updated between release candidates, this minimizes the bandwidth to keep the release candidate .iso s updated.
I'm referring to a site layout like here: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/weekly-builds/amd64/jigdo-dvd/

Something a couple of days ago on IRC was suggesting the same offering to do it, so, i bet it will be done as soon as we have a released iso
-
Yeah, that was me. I'll do it as soon as you have a released iso.

I've made the amd64 CD jigdo, it tests ok on my computer, please test it before uploading.
Also I've made a brief? HOWTO on how to download with jigdo if you already have a Debian jessie DVD, should save a LOT of bandwidth for you if they use it :-) HOWTO-download-Devuan-CD-with-jigdo.txt
devuan_jessie_1.0.0-beta_amd64_CD.jigdo
ARGH the template file is 36 MB, max filesize is 10Mb. where can I upload it??
I'll do it in 4 parts for now, to be cat ted together to devuan_jessie_1.0.0-beta_amd64_CD.template devuan_jessie_1.0.0-beta_amd64_CD.template.part00 devuan_jessie_1.0.0-beta_amd64_CD.template.part01 devuan_jessie_1.0.0-beta_amd64_CD.template.part03 devuan_jessie_1.0.0-beta_amd64_CD.template.part02

This is for the Devuan file server admin: howto-run-jigdo.txt

I was going to setup to also build jigdo images using debian-cd along with the iso's but thought I'd hold off until we're ready for the next build which I'm planning for next week.
