Problems in expanding partition size

Thanks for such a hard work. Yesterday I have tried to install this distro on Asus chrome book c201p (Veyron ARM Chromebook RK3288) based on the following link https://mirror.leaseweb.com/devuan/devuan_jessie/embedded/README.txt

Because I would like to use this disto as daily OS I wanted to resize the limited partition which is almost about 2GB. But could not resize the partition. Actually I can but laptop does not recognize the resized partition. I read this note in the installation guide

The images use recent kernels (4.10, 4.6, and such) which causes a specific issue when you try to resize or fsck ext{2,3,4}: they use some ext4 features not yet available in the standard Devuan Jessie e2fsprogs. Because of this, you are advised to install e2fsprogs from jessie-backports if you are in need of using these tools on these images.

but I could not really understand how to install e2fsprogs from jessie-backports. I tried to resize the partition on different more recent pc using gparted but then cannot boot resized sc-card. Can anyone help me with this issue?
