Add @ralph.ronnquist to @unsystemd
On 25 August, 2014,
@judecn
started the public development ofvdev
, based on the system he'd been using for himself for years: a static device manager. It came to replaceudev
that was being absorbed bysystemd
. Jude's program were to become a flagship product of the Debian
diaspora
that later formed Devuan. Until 9 months ago, Jude contributed tovdev
, but life caught up on him and he had to stop this endeavor. On August 8, he
announced he would stop developingvdev
. Discussions aboutvdev
continued on the DNG mailing list, until 2 months ago,
@ralph.ronnquist
started working on the development ofvdev
to address
#1 (closed)
and made a lot more improvements since. But he's not yet part of the
@unsystemd
team.
Hereby I'm asking:
-
@judecn
if he wants to give up official maintenance of
vdev
to pass it on to @ralph.ronnquist -
@ralph.ronnquist
whether he wants to take over official maintenance of
vdev
- the @unsystemd team whether they want to accept Ralph among them
-
+1 to accept Ralph in the team
-
Yes, I'd be prepared to take on official maintenance of vdev. I may need some guidance (more than once) as to the particulars of that commitment, but I believe I have the ability and time to do this a fair while into the future.
-
+1 for transfer
-
big up Ralph!

Please note that I've created a merge request to bring in my fork changes to the master branch here, but I haven't accepted it yet, in case there are reasons to not merge. As a tentative plan, I'll leave it as is some few weeks or so, then merge and do the hands-on for new package version numbers to mark the occasion.
